Disabling IPTABLES

1) Check status


[root@localhost selinux]# service iptables status

2) Stop services

[root@localhost selinux]# service iptables stop
iptables: Flushing firewall rules:                         [  OK  ]
iptables: Setting chains to policy ACCEPT: filter          [  OK  ]
iptables: Unloading modules:                               [  OK  ]
[root@localhost selinux]# service ip6tables stop
ip6tables: Flushing firewall rules:                        [  OK  ]
ip6tables: Setting chains to policy ACCEPT: filter         [  OK  ]
ip6tables: Unloading modules:                              [  OK  ]
[root@localhost selinux]#

3) Disable permanently 

[root@localhost selinux]# chkconfig iptables off
[root@localhost selinux]# chkconfig ip6tables off


Disabling SELINUX

1) First check status

setatus

[root@localhost ~]# sestatus
SELinux status:                 enabled
SELinuxfs mount:                /selinux
Current mode:                   enforcing
Mode from config file:          enforcing
Policy version:                 24
Policy from config file:        targeted
[root@localhost ~]#



2) Change following directory 

[root@localhost ~]# cd /etc/selinux/
[root@localhost selinux]# pwd
/etc/selinux
[root@localhost selinux]# ls
config  restorecond.conf  restorecond_user.conf  semanage.conf  targeted
[root@localhost selinux]#

3) Modify config file following lines

Replace enforcing to disabled 


# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
#     enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
#     permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
#     disabled - No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUX=enforcing
# SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
#     targeted - Targeted processes are protected,
#     mls - Multi Level Security protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted

After modification 

# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
#     enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
#     permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
#     disabled - No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUX=disabled
# SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
#     targeted - Targeted processes are protected,
#     mls - Multi Level Security protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted


Reboot VM to implement changes
